monday munchies / mango + maca latte

ok... so maybe not the two together. but i am becoming quite the multitasker! if your like me, you love [trader joe's].. i mean who doesn't? they make produce pre-cut and packaged, which is so convenient.. but i'm sad to say, i never learned how to cut a mango properly!

i know.. it's crazy. and we live by the freshest produce market too. i never knew there was a horizontal like pit.. i alway thought i never got the good mangos and quickly gave up.
but good news! its really easy!
just lay the mango on its side and cut two chunks so you have two half circles. the middle part is the pit. if you crosshatch its so easy to pull pieces off.
lincoln can't get enough!

maca latte:

this is for mama's and not babies!
maca is a root vegetable grown in the Peruvian Andes. It was sacred to the Incas and has been used in South America for centuries. Maca is known for its abundance of potassium, calcium and iron. It is known to be a "superfood" as well as helping women with hormonal ups and downs.

ingredients:
1 cup of iced coffee (it has to be a cold beverage or the maca powder will get burnt)
1/2 or 1 teaspoon of raw maca powder (start small and gradually increase)
1/2 cup milk / soy milk/ coconut milk
sugar (if desired)
ice cubes

put ingredients into a container / jar with a lid. shake beverage until powder is dissolved.
(ice is key here.) and enjoy!

i've been very inspired by [ohdeardrea]. she blogged about this recipe and i can't get enough i really feel more energetic and well balanced.
