this book is a favorite. although we actually crave tacos after reading it. (with hot sauce please)

i can always appreciate a humorous story along with some amazing illustration.

what were reading / with bookroo

lincoln was so excited to receive book "presents" in the mail. his picture books came wrapped in wrapping paper, which had him dancing while he opened them. he took them right into his tent and observed each book carefully. the two books we got this month: "Pirate Nap: a Book of Colors" a book about pirate boys learning colors and "Hugless Douglas and the Big Sleepover" a silly book about an animal sleepover party underground in a rabbit's hole. 

even our dog prince was into the new books.

[snuggle the baby - by: sara gillingham]

we got this book as a gift for lincoln's second birthday. pretty sure its the cutest "prepping for the baby" / big sibling book i've ever seen. her illustrations pop with color. (gender neutral of course) the pieces come out and the soon-to-be big siblings can interact with the baby. baby has a lot of needs, and this book outlines it all. 

lincoln always asks to read this book. he loves feeding the baby, and pretends to feed himself after. he also tucks baby into our bed and laughs (he has this new laugh.. i call it the "creepy laugh".. its a little bit creepy and totally fake). i guess this new baby will be joining the 3 of us (plus dog). sleeping alone is overrated.. said no mom ever ;)

we took a trip to the library and found this book full of taxis, buses, airplanes, trains. 

its a great counting book.

this book.. 

I seriously tear up reading it to Lincoln. 

It was a gift from his grandma who also loves him dearly. 

love is such an unexplainable thing and probably the most powerful feeling. this book captures it perfectly with beautiful illustrations.
